Jeffrey Fenster
Jeffrey Fenster earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Washington College of Law at the American University in 1990 after graduating cum laude in 1987 from Brandeis University.  Mr. Fenster worked for a year in the Litigation Department at Jones, Day, Reavis and Pogue, one of the largest law firms in the United States.  After that, Mr. Fenster worked for eight years in a general practice, where he gained litigation experience in personal injury, criminal law, family law, bankruptcy law, business law, and federal appellate practice.  In 2000, Mr. Fenster joined Stein, Sperling, Bennett, DeJong, Driscoll & Greenfeig, P.C., one of the largest law firms in Montgomery County, where he concentrated in personal injury litigation.  Mr. Fenster built and managed Stein, Sperling's dormant personal injury litigation department into a high-volume practice, obtaining millions of dollars worth of verdicts and settlements.  In March of 2008, Mr. Fenster opened his own practice, bringing his wealth of expertise and experience to his clients in a more personalized setting. 

Highlights of Mr. Fenster's career include:

  • Completely successful defense (not guilty verdict on all counts) of a 1st-degree murder charge 
  • $4 Million in judgments and settlements in one year (2005)
  • Successful lawsuit against Montgomery County for failure to maintain foliage coverage stop sign, resulting in death of client motorist.
  • Lawsuit (pending) on behalf of estate of pedestrian victim of 2007 fatal Metro Bus accident
  • Six-figure jury verdict for incarcerated client
  • Last clear chance jury verdict in pedestrian-motor vehicle accident in Montgomery County
  • 3 reported cases:
    • Pelzman v. George Washington University
    • William v. Cloverleaf Enterprises
    • Rodrigues-Novo v. WMATA
  • Successful declaratory judgment action obtaining coverage for child on her parent's insurance policy.
  • Successfully opposed attempt by client's own auto insurance company in Montgomery County Circuit Court to force client to repay workers' compensation benefits.
  • Approximately sixty cases brought to jury verdict.
  • Hundreds of bench trial verdicts.
  • Appeals concerning workers' compensation, bankruptcy, premises liability and motor vehicle accident cases in Federal and State Courts.
  • Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell for very high legal ability and ethical standards.
  • Adjunct Professor at former Northern Virginia College of Law.  Course instruction included Tort (Personal Injury) Law, Property Law and Constitutional Law.
